A LANCASTER AMISH WOMAN WITH COURAGE

On October 14, 2026, an Amish woman in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, was working outside with a weed eater when a man allegedly approached her with a knife and handcuffs, demanding that she let him handcuff her. Thankfully she fought back and the assailant escaped.

I will post some sources from people about the crime before I give my thoughts.

DISCLAIMER: I have Anabaptist friends whom I love, I even visit their church services. I count them as Brothers and sisters in Christ, though I only disagree with their non-resistance views and not working for government. I agree with 90% of what they believe.

😳DON’T MESS WITH AN AMISH GIRL WITH A WEED EATER! 😂💪

An Amish woman in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, was working outside with a weed eater when a man allegedly approached her with a knife and handcuffs, demanding that she let him handcuff her.

But apparently, he picked the WRONG woman! 😳

Instead of panicking, she revved up that weed eater, stepped toward him, and screamed until he took off running! 🙌

Talk about turning an ordinary yard-work day into a fight for your life!

Ladies, sometimes the tool you're holding might just be the tool that saves you. And this young woman showed some serious courage under pressure! 💪

Thank God she was able to get away safely. 🙏

Moral of the story? Never underestimate an Amish girl… especially when she's armed with a weed eater! 😂🌿

Please stay alert, ladies. You never know who's watching, and your safety always comes first.

A young Amish woman saved her own life when a man with a large knife and handcuffs tried to kidnap her. He told her to comply, however, she chose to fight like hell... with a weed whacker and sheer determination.

This story may trigger some readers. However, this story is as sinister as it is empowering.

Lancaster County, Pennsylvania- Let's walk through the incident, alongside the 23-year-old Amish woman leading up to, and during, the attempted abduction. The woman is remaing anonymous so she will be referred to as 'June' in this story.

Keep in mind, an 18-year-old Amish girl, Linda Stoltzfoos, who lived in the exact same county June lived in, was kidnapped, assaulted and murdered on Father's day, 2020. It shook ALL nearby communities to their very core.

June definitely hadn't forgotten about Linda. When she felt the sudden tap on her shoulder, and turned around, she said she knew the strange man, just inches from her face...was going to try everything to kidnap her.

Below is a detailed and chronological timeline of what happened on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026.

The Staging: 4:09 p.m. to 4:20 p.m.

--A dark-colored Chevrolet pickup truck with New Jersey license plates, an American flag, and Monster Energy drink decals on the back window slowly drives down the 300 block of Creek Road in Sadsbury Township, Lancaster County. The male driver pulls over and parks near a residential property. This is quietly captured by a neighbor’s trail camera.

The Blind Ambush: 4:20 p.m.

--Near June's driveway, she is alone, focusing on her yard work. She is operating a motorized weed whacker to "tidy up" around the bushes. The loud, vibrating roar of the engine completely masks the sound of approaching footsteps. Suddenly, June experiences the ultimate jump-scare: she feels an unexpected physical tap on her shoulder.

The Shocking Visual Confrontation:

--June, shocked, spins around. Standing mere inches away from her is a total stranger, later identified as 26-year-old Junior Jose Davila-Moran. June looks down and sees terrifying instruments in his hands. In his right hand, he wields a massive 6 to 8 inch long serrated knife and in his left hand, he openly holds a pair of black handcuffs. He looks confident and determined.

The Predatory Ultimatum:

--June immediately takes a step backward into the grass. Davila-Moran looks at her calmly and issues a chillingly, soft demand, ordering her to "cooperate and let him lock the handcuffs onto her wrists". He tells her, "Everything will be okay if you comply." June later explicitly tells state investigators that, "at this exact second, she realized with absolute certainty... that this man intended to kidnap her".

June's Brilliant Counter-Defense: 4:22 p.m.

--Instead of submitting to the handcuffs, and becoming another tragic statistic, June chooses to show him she could fend for herself, even if violence was needed. Luckily, June chooses violence. A choice most of us only make when our hand is forced.

She uses the loud tool in her hands as a defensive shield. She instinctively knows that she has to create distance from the man and the large blade. June screams at the absolute top of her lungs, prepping herself for battle. The man looks at her, confused. June KNOWS she absolutely MUST stand her ground. June immediately and forcefully revves the weed whacker engine to make it spin at full power.

June is running on full throttle in every single sense of the word. This is life or death. June aggressively steps forward, lunging herself, and the machine, directly at the man's face that is trying to kidnap her.

She is daring him to make a single move towards her.

The Attacker's Cowardly Retreat: 4:23 p.m.

--Blown back by June's screaming resistance and the dangerously spinning trimmer, Davila-Moran's calculated composure shatters. He backs up, nearly tripping on his own feet. He stares at her, in disbelief and fear. He then shrugs his shoulders ...trying to appear confident. That quickly ends when one nanosecond later, he is visibly terrified. He desperately spins around, and sprints away in a full dash, disappearing behind a large wooden barn on her property. June is in the middle of THE scariest moment of her entire life, but she knows that SHE won. She is violently shaking while adrenaline floods her bloodstream but she knows the fight is not over... yet.

June Sprints Towards Safety- 4:30 p.m.- 4:35 p.m.

--Our shaken survivor runs across the property line to a neighbor's house for help. June's neighbor is understandably shocked. The neighbor immediately dials 911. Because Sadsbury Township has notoriously poor cellular coverage, the emergency call connects to the State Police Lancaster Barracks but suddenly goes completely silent.

Recognizing the suspicious dropping of the emergency call, troopers immediately deploy to the exact GPS coordinates of the call.

Overnight and Very Early the Next Day- Thursday, October 15th, 2026.

--State troopers canvas the entire area and thoroughly interview neighbors. They HAVE to stop this danger to June and possibly others. Troppers also have Linda Stoltzfoos's case heavy on their minds...

A nearby resident hands over their trail-camera footage, highlighting the Chevy pickup truck. This was a giant break, very early in the case. Investigators run the registration plate through regional license plate databases, tracking the vehicle's ownership directly to Davila-Moran's father in New Jersey. Troopers pull up a state photograph of the owner's son, which perfectly matches the survivor's provided description.

Just like that, they know who they have to catch so June can see justice.

The Tactical Arrest on Friday Morning, October 16th, 2026.

--Armed with an arrest warrant, the Hamilton Township Police Department in New Jersey conducts a tactical raid on Davila-Moran's residence. They breach the home and successfully take him into custody without further incident. Sitting in plain sight inside the Chevy pickup truck parked in his driveway, detectives discover the exact physical pair of handcuffs used during the ambush.

The Lineup & The Victim's Chilling Quote.

--Pennsylvania State Police investigators assemble an array of eight photographs for a formal "blind lineup". June scans the faces and immediately points directly to the photo of Junior Davila-Moran. Overcome with the raw trauma of the memory, June tells the troopers: “This photograph makes me tremble.”

Junior Jose Davila-Moran has been locked up and hit with HEAVY criminal charges. Prosecutors separated his offenses into two distinct categories.

The Felonies--

1. Kidnapping (To facilitate a felony)

2. Kidnapping (To inflict injury or terror)

The Misdemeanors--

3. Attempted False Imprisonment (1st count)

4. Attempted False Imprisonment (2nd count)

5. Possession of an Instrument of Crime (For the 6-8 inch serrated knife)

6. Possession of an Instrument of Crime (For the black handcuffs)

7. Simple Assault

8. Making Terroristic Threats

He remains in custody at the Mercer County Correction Center. He will be transfered to Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he will be immediately transfered into an ICE custody. ICE already has an active retainer on Davila-Moran.

Our thoughts remain with June. I'll personally be thinking of this story for years to come. She is us, and we are her.

Lancaster Amish woman used her Weedwhacker to defend herself against her potential kidnapper. Yes some Amish do allow Weed-whackers.

We now know more about what the person who (allegedly) attempted to kidnap a 23-year-old Amish woman Wednesday did.

Learning the details, this had to be a very frightening experience. And the Amish woman’s response may have saved her a lot of trauma and pain, and even her life. It turns out she used a weed whacker to scare off a man carrying a knife and handcuffs at her home.

Earlier this week we learned of this attempted abduction in Lancaster County near Atglen, Pennsylvania later described as an “assault” by State Police.

Police have now charged a New Jersey man with trying to kidnap her. Pennsylvania State Police identified the suspect as Junior Davila-Moran, 26, of Hamilton Township, New Jersey. He was arrested Friday morning at his home in New Jersey.

So here we had someone who traveled all the way from another state – at least an 80 mile trip – to prey on an innocent Amish person (allegedly). Was he just out for an Amish woman, and headed to the biggest community, then turned off the road and started driving around until he found one? Or is this someone who had ties to, or knew something about the area already?

Those are questions we don’t yet have answers for. But an affidavit filed by State Police now lays out what happened on Wednesday, and how the Amish woman’s reaction likely saved her.

What Police Say Happened

According to PennLive’s reporting on the affidavit, the woman was weed whacking near her driveway on Creek Road in Sadsbury Township in Lancaster County on Wednesday afternoon when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see a man she had never seen before.

He was carrying a long, serrated knife with a black handle and a pair of handcuffs, which he demanded that she allow him to put on her, police said. If she cooperated, he told her everything would be OK.

Instead, the woman revved the weed whacker and took a step toward the man while screaming, police said.

The man shrugged and took off, sprinting behind the wooden barn on her property on Creek Road in Sadsbury Township.

After the man ran, the woman went to a neighbor’s house to call police. The woman later told troopers she believed the man was trying to kidnap her, but that she had not seen any vehicle. She described him as about 5 feet, 5 to 7 inches tall, with short black hair and a goatee.

Trail Camera And Truck Decals Led Police To Suspect

The woman’s neighbors gave police trail camera footage showing a dark-colored Chevrolet pickup parked in the area from 4:09 to 4:22 p.m. Wednesday. This may have been the image we saw in the original reporting According to the affidavit, the truck had a New Jersey license plate, with an American flag and Monster Energy drink decals on its back window.

Police then ran license plate reader searches in the area and found a matching truck registered to Davila-Moran’s father. Davila-Moran’s PennDOT photo matched the woman’s description.

When police showed her eight photos, she picked out Davila-Moran, telling them, “This photograph makes me tremble.”

Hamilton Township police searched Davila-Moran’s home Friday morning and arrested him. According to police, his father’s Chevy pickup was parked outside, with a pair of handcuffs inside. Yuck.

Davila-Moran faces two felony kidnapping charges and six misdemeanors, including false imprisonment, simple assault, possession of an instrument of a crime, and terroristic threats.

It’s reasonable to assume based on the charges and the reported attempt to handcuff the woman, that this guy had kidnapping, and likely worse things, in mind. You don’t want to imagine what might have happened next if this brave Amish woman had not responded like she did.

Nonresistance And What This Woman Did.

I have to make a note about the idea of the Amish being a nonresistant people and what we know happened in this case. Here, the woman wielded a weed whacker and made noise in an attempt to scare the alleged attacker off and perhaps to get attention.

Though the Amish teach against using force, for example, being against war, in practice it’s not so clear-cut, and I believe some Amish people would certainly defend themselves or their families personally, to some extent, rather than just submit to violence by evil-doers.

That said, I don’t know that you’d even count what she did as “using force”. She may have wielded the weed whacker in a threatening manner, but did not strike him with it.

But even if she had, I doubt there’d be many in her community that would ever fault her for it. And we’ve seen this before in at least one similar example, when a 20-year-old Amish woman chased off an attacker who was attempting to abduct a 16-year-old Amish girl in Illinois.

I applaud this Amish woman for using that weed whacker to defend herself. What about you. What do you think?

MY THOUGHTS:

I thought that most Anabaptist teach non-violence. I was surprise that ‘June’ used force against the criminal who was obviously planning to kidnap her. I still admire her courage for defending herself, even if she had to use force and I think it is the right thing to do.

who were building on the wall. Those who carried burdens were loaded in such a way that each labored on the work with one hand and held his weapon with the other. – Nehemiah 4:17 (ESV)

Unlike the English, most Amish (with the exception of hunting), do not own firearms. I know my Anabaptist friends disagree with the Reformed Protestants on Luke 22:36 in regards of owning weapons or self-defence. I believe Jesus is not against us having weapons for self-defence. See more here: https://victimsfamiliesforthedeathpenalty.blogspot.com/2015/10/biblical-defense-for-self-defense.html

If she was forced to kill her assailant, I would say that she did no wrong. I understand that the Amish do depend on the English like for stuffs like hospital, firefighting and law enforcement. I was glad that the assailant was arrested and will be dealt with by the law.

I suggest that the Amish Community who have their 4 core values of the Anabaptist Trio: faith, family, community and simple life, should be on guard at all times by being on the lookout, like a herd of elephants who protect one and another, to prevent crimes.

I believe that Amish women are not only hardworking but also courageous, like these 5 women in the Bible:
