As a Reformed Protestant who have Anabaptist friends, I will post this prayer for reconciliation and unity for the Protestants and Anabaptist, before giving my thoughts.

A PRAYER FOR RECONCILIATION AND UNITY FOR THE PROTESTANTS AND THE ANABAPTISTS:
Heavenly Father,
Lord of all grace and Creator of the body of Christ, we come before You with humble hearts.
You have called us into one family through Your Son, Jesus Christ, and given us the ministry of reconciliation.
Lord, we lift up to You these two communities of faith, the Protestants and the Anabaptists. Forgive us for the times our divisions, misunderstandings, and pride have grieved Your Holy Spirit and torn at the fabric of Your church. Cleanse us from all bitterness, wrath, anger, and harsh words.
Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon both the Protestants and the Anabaptists. Soften our hearts where they have grown cold or defensive. Grant us the grace to look past our historical wounds, cultural differences, and disagreements, seeing one another instead as brothers and sisters bought by the same precious blood of Christ.
Give the leaders and members of the Protestants and the Anabaptists, the courage to seek peace, the wisdom to listen with humility, and the strength to offer and receive forgiveness. Knit our hearts together in true Christian love, that our unity may reflect Your reconciling heart to a watching world.
May we labour side by side for the Gospel, honoring Your holy name in harmony and mutual respect.
In the mighty and reconciling name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Peacemaker, we pray. Amen.

What is needed is a work of reconciliation that will overcome all the blockages and barriers in our hearts and in the conditions around us. Everywhere there are things that separate one person from another; everywhere people hold things against each other. They come with their wishes and demands, their complaints and accusations; they feel a lack of genuineness in their mutual assurances of love and respect, of dedication and community, of justice, and friendship. They see how others try to hold on to privileges and property that they have gained, or conversely how they themselves make every effort to obtain property or privileges that they see in the hands of others.
