HANDEL’S MESSIAH – HALLELUJAH
On this date, April 13, 1742, Handel's Messiah was first performed in Dublin and received its London premiere a year later. Handel's Messiah is one of my favourite oratorios based on the bible.
In memory of this famous oratorio, I will post two videos of one of Handel’s Messiah hymn – Hallelujah together with bible verses on that hymn, before posting 5 sermon series by John D. Martin called ‘The New Song’ in 2016.

2 And I heard a voice from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps, 3 and they were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. No one could learn that song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. – Revelation 14:2-3 (ESV) [PHOTO SOURCE: https://bible.art/meaning/revelation-14%3A2-3] |

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. – Revelation 19 vs 6 (KJV) THE INSPIRING STORY OF HANDEL’S MESSIAH [PHOTO SOURCE: https://revelationcentral.com/the-story-of-handels-messiah/] https://blackforestproject421.blogspot.com/2024/04/handels-messiah-premiered-on-april-13.html |

John D. Martin is an itinerant Bible teacher with interests in a diversity of Christian topics including church history, economics, music, and church as community. He compiled the hymnbook Hymns of the Church. One of John’s passions is to help people see that the main theme of Scripture is not the “scarlet thread” of Jesus’ atonement, but rather the Kingdom of God; our salvation is a means to and end, the end being the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom is intended to demonstrate the excellence of God’s character and his manifold wisdom, and this theme runs through the entire Bible. He lives in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania and is a part of Shippensburg Christian Fellowship. [PHOTO SOURCE: https://strengthtostrength.org/the-new-humanity/] |

Friendship arises out of mere companionship when two or more of the companions discover that they have in common some insight or interest or even taste which the others do not share and which, till that moment, each believed to be his own unique treasure (or burden). The typical expression of opening friendship would be something like, “What? You too? I thought I was the only one.” —C. S. Lewis, The Four Loves
