Today, February 23, marks the 340th birthday of the renowned Baroque composer George Frideric Handel, known for operas, oratorios, and concertos. I will like to introduce the Stoltzfus Family, a conservative Mennonite family with ten children who are a musical family group.
The Mel and Katie Stoltzfus family, also known as The Mel Stoltzfus Family, is a singing group from Halifax, PA consisting of Mel, Katie Ann, and their ten children. They are known for their family-style harmonies and gospel music, having joined the Gospel Express Ministries as a singing team in 2017. They have released several musical recordings and are available for bookings through Gospel Express Ministries.

They also performed in the United States before immigrating there permanently to escape the deteriorating situation in Austria leading up to World War II. In the United States, they became well known as the "Trapp Family Singers" until they ceased to perform as a unit in 1957. The family's story later served as the basis for a memoir, two German films, and the Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway musical The Sound of Music. The last surviving of the original seven (born to Captain von Trapp and his wife Agathe Whitehead), Maria Franziska, died in 2014 at the age of 99.
