190 years ago on June 9, 1834, William Carey, the British missionary to India, passed away. Before his death, he requested the following epitaph for his tombstone: “A wretched, poor, helpless worm, on Thy kind arms I fall.” What a man with humility.

There are many famous bible teachers (bible teachers to me refer to both theologians and pastors) like the late RC Sproul, John F MacArthur and Paul Washer that are recommended. I write this as a dedication blog to a pastor and teacher, Cornelis Kleyn, whom I admire and follow. I had one of his sermons in a blog post: ‘SERMONS ON HEBREWS 10 VERSE 24 TO 25 – THE GOSPEL COMMUNITY’.

Rev Cornelis Kleyn is our pastor and teacher. Born in Holland, he has spent time in Tasmania, South Africa, Canada and more recently 11 years on the mission field in Papua New Guinea before coming to Comet Bay. He is married to Greta and they have six children.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, a little before his departure, commissioned his apostles to Go, and teach all nations; or, as another evangelist expresses it, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. This commission was as extensive as possible, and laid them under obligation to disperse themselves into every country of the habitable globe, and preach to all the inhabitants, without exception, or limitation. They accordingly went forth in obedience to the command, and the power of God evidently wrought with them.

MY RECOMMENDATION:

Rev Cornelis Kleyn is a pastor/teacher that I would recommend. I witnessed his ordination at his new church. I love his preaching and I feel encouraged when I listen to his sermons. I encourage you all to pray and support Cornelis Kleyn in his ministry.

As William Carey once said: “Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God.”
